J.R. Writer was born May 23rd, 1985 as Rusty Brito. He is of Dominican descent, and owns a record label called Writer's Block. Though he spent much time in jail between the ages of 11 and 16, his creation of J.R. Writer mixtapes helped to gain him some fame.

Though he has said many times that be started rapping at the young age of 12, he was mostly known for his freestyle battles with other local rappers. This allowed him to show off his hip hop beats, and meet Julez Santana, who would give him the break he needed. By the time he was 18, he would appear on Julez Santana's first album, which would help to propel his career.

This newfound fame got him signed with Dipset Productions, and the release of his first new mixtape in years called Writer's Block Pt. 1. Since then he has released two other studio albums called History in the Making and Write Away. Though both albums were a success, nothing showed off his unique hip hop beats more than his rap mixtapes.

Although many fans are eagerly anticipating his a new studio album, since one has not been released since 2008, there are many J.R. Writer mixtapes available. These rap mixtapes can be found on the many hip-hop sites online, and are famous for their unique hip hop beats. Some of the J.R. Writer mixtapes titles include, Welcome to Greatness, Paper Route, The Legend, Legal Crack, and Best Of.

After working with such talent as Lil' Wayne, Cee-Lo Green, Young Jeezy, and even Jay-Z, J.R. Writer has evolved into one of the more notable rap artists today. J.R. Writer mixtapes continue to be in high demand and his fan base grows deeper every day. All we can do is sit back in anticipation and wait for his next release.
